Rich Internet Apps/AJAX
|
The term, Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), is used to describe web applications which have most of the characteristics of desktop applications. Some examples of RIA frameworks include Curl, Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, AIR, Java, JavaFX, and Microsoft Silverlight.
Rich Internet Apps/AJAX:By using such frameworks we are able to update and adjust the functions of these applications as needed, remotely, without having to install software on the client’s computers. In conjunction with RIA’s we also use Asynchronous Java Script and XML (AJAX) to create an interactive and easy to use environment. Typically, AJAX is a web development technique for creating interactive web applications. AJAX data can be easily extracted from behind the scenes, through the server, without interfering with the application or the displays on the client’s screen. This increases the web page's interactivity, speed, and usability. |
Benefits:
RIAs employ a client engine to interact with the user, they are:
-
This richer functionality may include anything that can be implemented in the technology being used on the client side, including: drag and drop, using a slider to change data, calculations performed only by the client and which do not need to be sent back to the server.
-
More responsive. The interface behaviors are typically much more responsive than those of a standard Web application that must always interact with the server.
VENARC strives to build custom solutions to meet all of our clients business needs.
